The Annual Conference 2020 // Gender Economics

The University of Cologne will host the annual conference of the Verein für Sozialpolitik (VfS) in 2020. It is the most highly regarded economics conference in the German-speaking world. Around 800 participants from Germany and abroad are expected. VfS is one of the largest associations of economists in Europe with about 4.000 members, including 2.000 young scientists and about 1.200 university professors. 
Under the title "Gender Economics. Gender Studies in Economics", the annual conference of the VfS 2020 is dedicated to a highly social and political topic. In addition to presenting gender differences in various economically relevant areas, such as educational and labour market successes, the discussion of causes and the development of innovative measures to reduce existing gender imbalances will play a central role. The open part of the conference will also reflect the entire spectrum of current economic research.

At the annual conference there will be several keynote speeches by prominent economists from Germany and abroad, panel discussions with scientists and practitioners, as well as numerous interesting speeches on current results from economic research.
